2940 | No 100% definitive proof of the surname Hedgecock for our Mary, However I believe with a high level of certainty that our Mary was Mary Hedgecock. Mary Hedgecock, daughter of Thomas Hedgecock was born between 1680 and 1686. Thomas Hedgecock died in 1704. In his will; his estate is left to his wife, Margery Hedgecock and his grand-daughter Sarah "Pressnon," daughter of Jacob Presson (wittnessed by William Carter, Mary Carter, and William Jones). When you review the baptismal records of Christ Church, you will note that of the children of Jacob Presnell and "Mary" they only have their oldest "Sarah" at the year of Thomas Hedgecock's death (1704). Sarah is born in 1702, and the next, Mary, is not born until 1705. This is most undoubtedly our Mary, particularly when you look at Middlesex records and realize there are no other surnames that begin with Pr that would come close to making a connection. | Hedgecock, Mary (I19387)
