    In 1860, at the age of 24, Thomas Jefferson Smith is found living with John Hasket and his family in Bean Blossom Township, Monroe County, Indiana. John Hasket lived next door to John Presnell which was Elizabeth Presnell's father. This is probably how Thomas Jefferson and Elizabeth met. On June 22, 1864, Thomas and Elizabeth were married by the justice of the peace John M. Sluss, in Monroe County, IN.
