Gabriel & Stephen Presnell were brothers. Their parents, Enoch Presnell and Sarah Elizabeth Salts, died in the 1850's. After they died their children lived with nearby neighbors until the Civil War started. The Presnell brothers Gabriel, Stephen, Isaac, Elijah, and Jeremiah all enlisted to serve in the war. Their youngest brother, Amos Richard Presley, tried to enlist but was turned away for being too young. All of the brothers died during the Civil War except for Amos who escaped the war zone with his oldest sister and went by train to Jeffersonville, IN. Please write to me if you have any information about this family. Thanks.
